New Plymouth District Alcohol Strategy Group
The Alcohol Strategy Group has a focus on overseeing the implementation of the New Plymouth District Alcohol Strategy. Recently formed following the development of the strategy, the group represents diverse sector interests through regulatory control, health, police, workplaces and sports groups.
The goal of the strategy is to achieve:
“a safe, healthy, vibrant community and quality living environment through the responsible use of alcohol and by minimising alcohol related harm in New Plymouth district”
The Alcohol Strategy Group meets on a quarterly basis to review and update progress towards the achievement of the Alcohol Action Plan.
The group also coordinates an annual report measuring the change to alcohol related harm across a number of measures.
