Strengthening Families

Profile of Taranaki Safe Families Trust member: Strengthening Families

 

Strengthening Families has been helping families/whanau get access to the services they need since 1997.

At the heart of the Strengthening Families process is a family/whanau having trouble coping with life’s challenges.  It’s a family/whanau with strengths, but it also has issues that require the involvement of multiple agencies.

 

Strengthening Families brings together the family and all the agencies that have a part to play in helping the family/whanau achieve its desired outcomes. By having everyone in the room at the same time, the family only has to tell its story once. 

 

Any agency can refer a family to Strengthening Families.  Families/whanau can also self-refer.
