The White Ribbon campaign raises awareness of violence against women. Men wear the white ribbon to show they will not condone or remain silent about violence against women. White Ribbon Day celebrates the many men willing to show leadership and commitment to promoting safe, healthy relationships within families and encourages men to challenge each other on attitudes and behaviour that are abusive.

Activities this year included a promotional stand in Centre City (pictured left) where Taranaki Safe Families Collaborative members passed out free white ribbons to the public and provide information and advice to anyone concerned about violence toward women and its impact within families.
