Resources are available in this section for health professionals interested in delivering the home-based exercise programme developed by Otago University (known as the "Otago Exercise Programme".
Page Modified Tai Chi
A modified version of Tai Chi delivered in a group setting in the community. Aimed at over 65's (over 55 if Maori or Pacific) who have had a fall in the last year.
Page Over 65's Home Safety Checks
A free home safety check service delivered by Age Concern using the ACC 'Standing up to Falls' booklet as a guideline. Service offered across Taranaki.
Page Older Persons Wellbeing Days
NPiS host a number of Wellbeing Days each year to raise awareness of the links between keeping fit and active in later life and preventing falls.
Page Well Aware programme
A six-week community education programme for over 55's that focuses on health topics related to falls prevention including exercise, nutrition, medication, eyesight, footcare and home safety.
Page Falls Prevention Training
Falls Prevention training workshops aimed at rest home care staff and those working in primary and community health services.
