Internet Safety Tips for Parents
It may seem like kids are pretty savvy Web users, and many parents think that their children are better computer users than they are. But that doesn’t mean that kids understand the dangers they could encounter on the Internet or how to avoid them. This website provides useful information and guidance to help parents keep their kids safe on the Web.
Netsafe
NetSafe provides Internet safety information for children, parents and schools. NetSafe is an independent non-profit organisation that promotes confident, safe, and responsible use of Cyberspace. NetSafe promotes cybersafety by educating and supporting individuals, organisations, and industry, on a range of cybersafety issues. NetSafe is a multi-stakeholder partnership which represents a range of perspectives from New Zealand’s cybersafety community.
NZ Police - Scams & Frauds
This page on the New Zealand Police website provides information about common Internet scams and frauds, including 'Get Rich Quick schemes', bank scams, false prize notifications and phishing. The page also provides information on dealing with spam mail and what to do if you receive spammed scam mail.

This website outlines what the Department of Internal Affairs is doing to tackle 'spam'. It provides information about how you can assist with the enforcement of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (the Act was introduced in 2007 to prohibit the distribution of unsolicited commercial electronic messages, commonly known as spam).
