NZ Mountain Safety Council - Training

The philosophy of the NZ Mountain Safety Council is to encourage and assist all who enjoy land-based outdoor adventure activities to develop their skills and knowledge and accept responsibility for their own safety.

To achieve this, their branches provide training in many outdoor disciplines such as: Abseiling, Avalanche Awareness, Bushcraft, Firearm Safety, Outdoor First Aid, Outdoor Leadership, Risk Management and River Safety.

All New Zealand Mountain Safety Council (NZMSC) instructors have gone through a training and assessment process and have practical outdoors experience. Our instructors are genuinely interested in passing on their knowledge and skills, and each holds warrants in their chosen discipline.

To find out about training in the Taranaki area please visit the NZMSC website.
