In 2005 New Plymouth District was accredited an International Safe Community, and in 2010 we will continue our journey as we seek re-accreditation of this status. 

Community Safety Recognition Awards

We know that many individuals, groups, organisations and businesses promote and deliver a range of excellent community safety and injury prevention initiatives in our district. We want our celebration to be an opportunity to acknowledge Excellence in Community Safety and Injury Prevention in the New Plymouth District.

We invite you to tell us about great work, whether it be a small initiative within your own workplace, or a large partnership project running across the whole district, no project is too big or too small. Perhaps you would like to recognise someone else who goes the ‘extra mile’ to make our community a safer and more enjoyable place to live or you would like to say ‘Well Done’ to a local group that plays a key role in bringing people together to promote community safety?
