Is the Water Safe?

A new website has been developed to provide the public with up to date information about current health warnings affecting coastal and fresh waters around Taranaki.

Is the Water Safe? Log on and find out!

The Taranaki District Health Board Public Health Unit have developed the "Is the Water Safe?" website to provide the public with up to date information on the level of risk associated with recreational use of our coastal waters and fresh water rives/lakes.

The website provides access to coastal and fresh water maps containing information about current health warnings that affect those using local waters for recreational use or shellfish gathering.

Where can I swim?

If your favourite swimming spot currently has a health warning attached to it you could always go for a swim at your local pool. Check out the following websites:

Todd Energy Aquatic Centre (New Plymouth)

Inglewood, Okato, Waitara & Fitzroy pools

Stratford Swimming Pool

South Taranaki District swimming pools
